“Guide the threads correctly”
Walter Wirz is officially retired – but his interest in CREALET remains unbroken. “I may not be here every day anymore, but the technical developments at CREALET continue to fascinate me on a daily basis,” he says with a smile.
A look behind the scenes at CREALET
In the development and assembly department, you do not see any weaving or knitting machines. Because all trials and tests run through simulations, test setups, and computer analyses. Developers work with focus on the solutions of tomorrow.

“CREALET is an engineering company with integrated device assembly.”
“The core competence is the feeding of threads for a wide range of applications – this focus runs through every project.”
He observes how the team develops software adaptations for optimal thread control and analyses them together with customers worldwide under production conditions. “That makes me proud,” he says. “The systemic thinking of the founders continues to have an impact – even if I’m no longer sitting at my desk every day.”
Challenges as opportunities
Walter Wirz has accompanied the European textile industry for decades. He knows the challenges: cheap imports, rising energy prices, new sustainability requirements – along with digitalisation, automation, and a shortage of skilled workers.
“Crises always show where the real opportunities lie,” he says.
“Those who are willing to rethink their processes can emerge stronger.”
Technology that connects
CREALET is actively shaping the future. Intelligent warp thread feeding systems and digital control technologies help weaving mills make their production more efficient, higher in quality, and more sustainable.
“Our solutions lighten the workload for skilled workers and make production more flexible,” Wirz explains. “Especially in Europe, the combination of experience, innovative strength, reliability, and technology is our greatest advantage.”
Guiding the threads toward the future
For Walter Wirz, one thing is clear: the future of European weaving will be written not by the cheapest companies but by the smartest ones.

“A good fabric is created when everything works together perfectly – tension, speed, material,” he says. “If we guide the threads correctly, we create the future.”
