Efficient warp guidance where space is limited
When weaving from a creel, the warp is fed directly from the yarn packages to the weaving machine. This requires sufficient space to accommodate the creel. Particularly with large numbers of yarn packages, the space required can be considerable.
In addition, long yarn paths from the yarn packages at the rear of the creel to the weaving machine can make yarn guidance more difficult and, depending on the application, present a particular challenge for the weaving process.
An alternative is weaving from multiple warp beams positioned directly behind the weaving machine.
Warp beam rack: an alternative to a creel – with clear advantages
The warp beam rack combines a compact arrangement of warp beams with short yarn paths and long machine operating times.
It therefore provides a technically and economically attractive alternative to weaving from a creel – particularly for applications involving high production volumes, demanding technical fabrics or limited available space.

Shorter yarn paths and reduced space requirements
Positioning the warp beams directly behind the weaving machine significantly reduces the yarn paths. At the same time, valuable production space can be saved compared with a creel solution.
The warp threads are distributed across several warp beams. This makes it possible to provide longer warp lengths and extend the operating time of the weaving machine.
Fewer warp beam changes mean fewer interruptions and allow the available machine operating time to be used more efficiently.
Key benefits
- Reduced space requirements compared with large creel systems
- Short and clearly arranged yarn paths
- Longer machine operating times
- Fewer warp beam changes
- Reduced downtime
- More efficient use of production space
- Consistent process conditions and high fabric quality

Experience in demanding technical fabrics
Our experience with warp beam solutions also extends to demanding applications in technical textiles.
These include, among others, carbon fabrics and conveyor belt fabrics, where the requirements for warp guidance, process stability and reliable processing of the warp threads can be particularly high.
Especially in these applications, a warp beam configuration tailored to the weaving process is crucial. The arrangement of multiple warp beams can help keep yarn paths short while providing the required warp length for long production cycles.

Tailored to the application
Depending on the fabric, warp distribution and requirements of the weaving process, different warp beam solutions can be used.
We develop and manufacture customised warp beam racks with double warp beams, sectional warp beams or cassette warp beams. The design and arrangement are tailored to the respective weaving machine and specific production conditions.
Our experience from a wide range of applications – from conventional fabrics to carbon fabrics and conveyor belt fabrics – is incorporated into the design of each individual solution.
