Electronically Controlled Drafting Unit

Electronically controlled feeding and controlled stretching of elastic yarns.

Rubber Transport System for Narrow Fabric Looms

Developed for modern narrow fabric weaving mills for the electronically controlled feeding and controlled stretching of elastic yarns.

OVERVIEW

When weaving elastic narrow fabrics, certain articles require the elastic yarns to be deliberately pre-stretched before entering the loom.

To achieve a defined elongation in the finished fabric, the yarns must be supplied with precisely adjusted pre-tension. Our electronically controlled drafting unit enables accurate and reproducible adjustment of this pre-tension, ensuring high process reliability and consistent quality.

KEY ADVANTAGES

  • Precise and constant pre-tension of elastic yarns
  • Reduction of waste and quality deviations
  • Reproducible fabric quality
  • Increased productivity and cost efficiency
  • Intuitive operation via touch display

CONSTANT PRE-TENSION

In the production of elastic narrow fabrics, the feeding unit plays a crucial role. These units ensure that the weaving machine is supplied with the correct pre-tension of the yarns. By using a drafting unit to precisely adjust the pre-tension, both productivity and consistent band quality can be significantly improved.

The drafting unit regulates the elongation of the elastic yarns between the drafting unit and the weaving machine. Two feed rollers guide the yarn to the weaving machine with the set pre-tension. As a rule, the pre-tension between the drafting unit and the weaving machine is higher, enabling controlled and defined elasticity in the band.

The elongation between the drafting unit and the weaving machine is defined via an electronic gear system. The desired pre-tension can be set directly on the control unit and maintained with high precision. Drafting units are used particularly in technical applications of elastic ribbons where a permanently consistent pre-tension is required.
