Half-warp beams are often used when weaving wide textiles on projectile weaving machines.
Older machines still have single-sided drives using a differential to drive the second warp beam. A uniform warp thread tension of the two warp beams is not guaranteed.
This deficiency can be counteracted by equipping both warp beams with a drive. With the direct measurement of the thread tension in the warp, the thread tension of both warp beams can be adjusted individually.
Warp beam on high position and warp beam frames
Half-warp beam applications are not only used for ground beams, but also for warp beams in high position and on free-standing warp beam frames that are set up behind the weaving machines.
The purpose of these applications is to extend the running time with several warp beams and thus achieve a higher efficiency.
