SECTION 1: Corporate Brochure
CREALET is a Swiss company and a world-leading manufacturer of electronic warp feeding systems for both wide and narrow fabric weaving. We have been developing, manufacturing and installing innovative solutions for improving productivity, efficiency and quality since 2003 – always closely matching the requirements of our customers. Our expertise is continuously expanding, thanks to strategic partnerships with top technology providers – assuring a strong foundation for the success of our solutions.
SECTION 2: Perspectives for Narrow Weaving
In ribbon weaving mills the warp yarns are often stored on several sectional warp beams. For conventional negative electronic let-off devices, the warp thread tension is created by braking the bobbins with belts or cables. These devices are cost-effective and very simple, but a consistent thread tension from a full to empty bobbin is not ensured. They do not provide an optimal solution for high-quality and elastic fabrics.
There are various warp thread feed systems available for improving these negative characteristics.
The following types of feed systems can be distinguished:
- Feed from sectional warp beams
- Feed with feeding unit from creel
In the past, an electronic warp feed for ribbon weaving was rather difficult to implement, mainly due to the associated costs. Today, new manufacturing processes and methods enable cheaper solutions.
An electronic feed of the warp threads not only has a positive influence on product quality, it also reduces machine load and warp breaks.
With the electronic feed of the warp threads, warp beams with a larger flange diameter can be used, whereby the efficiency of the weaving machine can be increased.
We design and manufacture warp feeding systems according to your needs. Years of experience and expertise in this area as well as the cooperation with innovative partners speak for us.
The SOLEX let-off controller optimizes the weaving procedure and simplifies operation. It also has a particular influence on the fabric quality and contributes to a regular weave structure. The controller is designed for applying warp tension control to weaving machines and comes by default without a driver. It only provides an analog-output motor speed of 0-10VDC for the external driver. There are no unnecessary functions and no keys. It is a lean-design, cost-effective solution for easy warp let-off.
- simple handling
- maintenance-free
- very cost-effective
- higher fabric quality
SECTION 3: Perspectives for Wide Weaving
Technical fabrics must meet high functional and quality requirements. Wherever high qualities are required, the reproducibility and process reliability of the warp tension plays an essential role.
- Avoiding wavy selvedge areas
- Accurate setting of warp tension
- Display of the warp tension reference value
- Constant warp tension
- High reproducibility of warp tension
- Interface for visualization of process data
- Real-time remote access and support via TeamViewer
When weaving dense fabrics, it can happen that the selvedges of the fabric are looser than the rest of the fabric. Due to the wavy fabric selvedges, such fabrics can be further processed only with difficulty, because the selvedges cannot be kept at the same tension as the rest of the fabric. This is referred to as wavy selvedges. This waviness has a negative effect especially during, unwinding or rewinding of the fabric. The wider the fabrics are produced, the more distinctive the waviness becomes.

- easy to adapt and versatile
- simple handling
- maintenance-free
The KAST-ERGO control optimizes the weaving procedure and simplifies the operation. It can be used either as a warp let-off or as a combination of warp let-off and fabric take-up. A regular weave structure and a high fabric quality can be achieved through the interaction of warp let-off and fabric take-up. The control unit can be used for any kind of weaving machines.
- easy to adjust
- maintenance-free
- customized adaptation to the needs
- large power range in compact dimensions
- varied parameter programming for quality optimization
- load cell measuring for warp tension
- master/slave operation for synchronized weaving
- designed for remote control and programming unit
Warp beam stands are used for various kinds of applications, ranging from the weaving fabrics with coarse yarn counts, use of warp yarns with widely differing yarn counts or for multi-layer fabrics with a different weave-in of the binder yarn.
The warp beam stands are designed with the latest technology and especially for the easy handling of the warp beams during loading and unloading; and incorporate electronic controls for feeding the required amount of yarn with the requested tension to the weaving machine.
- higher warp running times
- higher plant efficiency
- less personnel needed
- lower weaving costs
- higher fabric quality
Warp beams in high position for single, twin and multiple warp beams can be provided for different weaving machines.
These systems are used mainly for top quality casual leisure wear and fashionable accessories for men, women and children.
A further application is for when beams are quickly woven out, in which case an additional warp beam on top of the weaving machine can make the weaving process more efficient and economical.
- longer warp running times
- higher plant efficiency
- lower weaving costs
- higher fabric quality
In applications where traditional size warp beams are quickly woven out, bobbin creels could be an alternative option.
Bobbin creels are used for many different technological applications, e.g. warping, weaving, warp-knitting and pultrusion procedures. The bobbin creel must be able to accommodate an adequate number of bobbins and ensure that the yarn tension is equal across the entire warp sheet. The size of the bobbin creel and the number of package positions will depend on the number of yarns required.
Weaving from additional or larger beams on separate let-off frames is an ideal solution if the space requirement for the bobbin creel is too big.
- uniform warp tension
- easy tension setting
- longer machine running time
- higher fabric quality
In applications where the standard warp beams are quickly worn out, the use of larger warp beams can make the knitting process more efficient and economical: the larger the diameter of the beams, the longer the knitting machine running time between beam changes.
The beams are positioned on independent warp beam stands. Several warp beams can be arranged either on top of each other or in a row.
The warp beam stands have been designed for easy handling of the warp beams during beam changes. The warp beam stands are constructed and manufactured according to customer requirements.
- Longer machine running time
- Greater system efficiency
- Fewer personnel
- Reduced costs
- Higher fabric quality
The UKAST is the revised let-off controller of the well-known KAST 197. It can be used as replacement of KAST 197 but with its new design it allows a wider applications. UKAST, this name stands for the really universal utilization. The controller is designed for application of warp tension control for weaving machines and comes standard without a driver. It just gives a motor speed analog-output of 0-10VDC for external driver.
- simple handling
- maintenance-free
- customized adaptation of let-off device with gear combination
- various parameter programming for quality optimization
- higher fabric quality

The production of large batches with this special tirecord fabric gives some problems with big diameters and heavy weights. When using conventional batching motions the so-called “Cauliflower Effect” results. This problem can be solved with the degressive batching motion. For winding the fabric lengths the batching motion is imperative.
- no “Cauliflower Effect”
- no variation in width
- no deformation of the selvedge zone
- higher fabric quality
SECTION 4: Practical Add-ons
It frequently occurs that more warp threads are wound on the warp beam of a weaving machine than are required to weave the intended fabric. This surplus of warp threads on the warp beam is often intentional in order to ensure that there are enough warp threads available for the fabric.

- portable unit
- protection against entangling with regular warp yarns
