This is how to avoid edge waviness

With the BLDC drive for selvedge thread let-off

Problem analysis and solution

When weaving dense fabrics, it can happen that the fabric selvedge is looser than the rest of the fabric.

This waviness can have a negative effect on subsequent processes. For this reason, edge waviness should be avoided.

This disadvantage can be eliminated – or at least greatly reduced – by feeding the selvedge yarn to the weaving machine from selvedge thread bobbins.

This allows the selvedge yarns to be tensioned separately from the ground yarns.

Before and after

The selvedge thread let-off was first presented at ITMA 2019 in Barcelona.

In the meantime, the design has been updated, the motor has been equipped with a Biss-Encoder for robust data transmission and operation is now done with a colour touch screen.

For winding the selvedge thread bobbin, we recommend the Mini Warper S-200, with standard creels for 12, 24 or 36 bobbins. The selvedge thread winder meets the high requirements for the production of selvedge thread bobbins in weaving mills.

It is characterised by uniform yarn tension and high efficiency. The easy handling guarantees optimal operation.
