25% of the added value generated in Bursa comes from textiles and Bursa ranks 5th in terms of socio-economic growth after Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Kocaeli. On the other hand Bursa is the 3rd city in terms of active labor force. There is a total of 11 synthetic yarn factories in Turkey and 8 of them are installed in Bursa. According to a survey Bursa is unique in the world in terms of yarn factories established. On the other hand, 75% of Turkey’s total synthetic yarn production is in Bursa. Besides, the textile industry installed in Bursa has the largest share in Turkey’s exports.
